Please Note: To ensure you purchase the correct size for your children there is a range of try-on samples which are available in the school office. Please pop in to see Mrs Hopwood who will be happy to help.

Principles
It is our policy that all children should wear clothing that is in keeping with a purposeful learning ethos.  We also believe it is important that certain activities are facilitated by specialised and appropriate clothing when attending school, or when participating in a school-organised event outside normal school hours.  We provide a complete list of the items needed for children’s school uniform in this policy and in our school prospectus.

Aims
Our policy for children’s school uniform is based on the belief that a school uniform:

• promotes a sense of pride in the school
• engenders a feeling of community and belonging
• is practical and smart
• identifies the children with the school
• is not distracting in class (as fashion clothes might be
• makes children feel equal to their peers in terms of appearance
• is regarded as suitable, and good value for money, by most parents
• has been designed with health and safety in mind.

Our colours are purple, grey and white and the uniform is as follows:

• School purple sweatshirt with school logo
• School white polo shirt with school logo or (white shirt)
• School purple book bag with school logo
• Grey/black trousers or grey/black shorts
• Purple gingham dresses may be worn in the summer term

For PE All children need

• White t-shirt
• PE shorts
• A pair of trainers and a tracksuit for outdoor P.E.
• Plimsolls (indoor P.E.)

Optional items

• School Purple knitted hat with school logo
• School Purple Fleece Coat

Jewellery
For safety reasons children are not allowed to wear jewellery in school.  Children with pierced ears should wear only stud-style earrings. All earrings must be removed for P.E. activities and swimming. We are unable to take responsibility for lost jewellery, watches and other personal belongings.

All clothing and footwear should be clearly labelled with your child’s name and kept on each child’s peg.

P.E. Kits should remain in school all week.
