Hildenborough School Uniform Guidance

The wearing of uniform helps the children feel that they belong to our school and that they are proud to belong. All items, except the special Hildenborough ‘issue’, are available in most department stores. Plain jumpers/cardigans in the school colour green are acceptable. Hildenborough logo items ( * ) are available online through Direct to Parents Service provided by School Trends, along with all other items if you wish to purchase them there.

Swimming: Girls will need a one-piece swimming costume and boys a pair of swimming trunks. All children must wear a latex cap for safety and to prevent clogging of the filters. Please do not send in talcum powder, it gets everywhere! Two towels are a good idea – if children use one to dry their hair first so it doesn’t drip on their bodies – and the other for their bodies afterwards.

All items must be clearly labelled with your child’s name.

P.E. items should be in a large, labelled draw-string bag and swimming kit should be in an additional draw-string bag.

Hair slides or hair bands should be dark green, black or white.

Please could you ensue that loops on coats are large enough to hang on our pegs!

We do not allow back packs or similar as there is not enough room in our cloakrooms for such bulky items.

No jewellery is permitted except for pierced ears. These should be studs only, and should be removed for swimming and PE, so that the child wearing them should be able to remove and replace them unaided. Ideally ears should be pierced at the beginning of the summer break to give them time to heal.
