Principles
It is our policy that all children should wear clothing that is in keeping with a purposeful learning ethos. We also believe it is important for children to wear special clothing for physical activities. It is also important that uniform is worn when children are participating in a school-organised event outside normal school hours.

We provide a complete list of the items needed for children’s school uniform in this policy and in our school prospectus.

Aims: Our policy for children’s school uniform is based on the belief that a school uniform:

promotes a sense of pride in the school
engenders a feeling of community and belonging
is practical and smart
identifies the children with the school
is not distracting in class (as fashion clothes might be)
makes children feel equal to their peers in terms of appearance
is regarded as suitable, and good value for money, by most parents and has been designed with health and safety in mind.

Our colours are jade, navy, and white and the uniform is as follows:

BOYS

Jade sweatshirt with school logo
White polo shirt with school logo or white shirt
Navy trousers or shorts

GIRLS

Jade sweatshirt with school logo or
Jade cardigan with school logo
White polo shirt with school logo, or white blouse
Navy skirt, trousers or pinafore dress
Blue or green gingham dresses may be worn in the summer term

P.E.

Navy Blue PE Shorts
White T Shirt with school logo or plain white t-shirt
Trainers for outdoor games and athletics

Optional Extras:

Jade fleece and/or reversible fleece jacket with school logo
Black gym bag with school logo or Plain gym bag essential.
Tracksuit for outdoor PE

Jewellery

On health and safety grounds, we strongly discourage the wearing of any jewellery in our school.

ALL CLOTHING AND FOOTWEAR SHOULD BE CLEARLY LABELLED WITH YOUR CHILD’S NAME AND WE RECOMMEND THAT ATTENTION IS PAID TO THE ‘CARE LABEL’ INSIDE EACH GARMENT.
